Welcome to the Gordo High School
Library Media Center!
Library Overview
The Gordo High School Library Media Center is located directly across from the main office. Students are scheduled to visit the library weekly with their English teacher. Any teacher may schedule a library time as needed for research, class projects, and special lessons/activities. Students are encouraged to visit the library any time (with a pass from their teacher) to select books, work on assignments or projects, or to use the computers/tablets for school-related purposes. Printing services are also available for students and teachers.
Our library has a collection of approximately 13,000 books, videos, and other items for student and teacher use. In addition, the library has 13 computers and a total of 40 iPads available for student use. The class set of 30 iPads must be reserved via the SignUpGenius link sent monthly to all teachers. We also have a smart TV and Promethean ActivPanel which may used as needed.

Library Staff
Library Media Specialist - Mrs. Heather Perrigin
I began teaching at Gordo Elementary in 1996, and was later hired as the librarian at Gordo High School in 2008. Although I am originally from Tuscaloosa, I consider Gordo my home. I have enjoyed getting to know students and their families over the years and look forward to many more years in education.
My husband, Craig, is the assistant principal at Pickens County High School. We have been married for 20 years. We live in Gordo and have two dogs, Roxie and Jenny. We enjoy spending time at the river and watching Alabama football. As a librarian, I (of course) LOVE to read!! I enjoy talking with students about what they are reading. I also enjoy traveling and have been to some really fun places.
If there is ever any way I can help you at the Gordo High School library, please feel free to contact me!
